I don't get it. I love my 914, but that has to have cost a LOT of cash.
couldn't I have a 930 for less?

yeah but if I had the money and the time and resources I surely would be building something like that myself .
Dare to be different.......maybe it is just me but I get highly annoyed when out driving the family car ( Ford Contour ) and another Contour pulls up to next to me that looks exactly the same . Which is one of the reasons I drive a teener ![]() I sure would like to take that 914 for a quick blast !!

From what I know about the car...which I learned from some of the rennlist guys...
the guy is in england and he is not a rich man, rather he fabricated almost all of it himself and has taken him somewhere around 15years to get to this point... I think it is very cool...which I could get a ride ![]() I think someone had said that he just joined rennlist... HTH, Tony |

He has been working on it for 17 years! Not everyone has a CNC mill in thier garage to make custom parts. I respect the work but you know after all that work you still have to people "Yea, its a 914". When does it stop being a 914?

Hello, everyone, I’ve been watching the reaction to my 914 for last few weeks on various forums. I have had an amazing response, of course its not to every ones taste, but I hope people judge my work from an engineering stand point.
CHA914 and URY914 have got my background about right. Well spotted prattrc! Julian |

Julian - great job! I didn't see a hp estimate, what do you think? You need to join the Porchev group on yahoo. There are several hundred members on that list with slightly less modified 914's and 911's in various stages. My teener "only" has around 400hp and would seem mild when parked next to your car.

Welcome, v8914. Great acomplishment. We can always use another guy that seem to be spinning just a little off axis. There are several of us around now thanks to the wonders of the internet and our humble host, Pelican Parts. I signed your guest book and left you a link. Enjoy....

Julian: Your car is awesome! Whats even better is that you designed and built it yourself. Exceptional.

My target HP is 600, I am limited to the boost I can make due to the size of the blowers, I am already spinning them at max speed: 13,000rpm. I haven’t taken the engine over 3500rpm under load at the moment. I am on target for about 12psi boost. Even if I don’t quite make 600HP the torque should be massive, that in my book is what really counts. HP is a function of rpm and torque, in fact HP is calculated from the rpm and torque. Jabb 17 years and still counting, is a project ever really finished! Rich I had a look at your site, nice conversion, I came really close to using the 928 engine. What swung the decision what that the Chevy engine was less likely to date. I new my project would take a few years, never imagined it would take as long as it did though! Julian |
