914 rear trunk latch HELP
Hello everyone:
My '71 six is being shipped to Scotty B. at Kahiko Customs & Restoration in VA tomorrow and my rear trunk won't latch so it stays shut. Anyone know how you adjust the pin coming from the trunk lid so I can secure it for transport? I don't want to think of it bouncing up and down even a little as the car goes cross-country riding. Thanks all. Michael

It has been a while (on my 1.7 but I suspect it is the same) but I believe you remove the entire top portion and you should see a nut on top of the pin, locking its' depth. Loosen the nut and adjust. If it isn't locking I would guess that the pin portion needs to be lengthened. Retighten the nut and reinstall.
Good luck, Keith |

Keith: Thanks I will look at that this morning. Thank you.
I prefer not to use a strap if possible; but thanks.
