Orcas Island huh... must be a beautiful day up there today! I love that island and Friday Harbour on San Juan Island, some of the most beautiful spots I have ever been to. I didn't know that there was any 914 on Orcas. Tell us about your car.
Geoff

Geoff, I've had about 24 P's in about 40 years and just bought a '76 912e for my gal. The last owner sent along the fuel infected parts in box as he had installed webers. I sold FI to a fellow that did not say what he wanted system for but emailed back if I also had control unit. I didn't but I had an attic full of 914 stuff and thought if the "brains/914" I had would work I would send one to him. There are a couple of 914 daily drivers here and one or two over on San Juan. We have a couple of 911's and the "new" 912e. There is probably a dozen 911's from a '68 thru new P's here on Orcas. My gal can scare you and I thought she could at least use most of the gears if we limited her foot to a 4 cyl.
We are trying to arrange a fall Mt.Constitution picnic run/camp with some folks from Van Island and BC.....if you wish I will keep your email. Thanks for your brain and all the best steve |

The ECU on a 912E is a unique animal. No other car had exactly the same ECU, so if the buyer really wants the FI to run correctly he should find a 912E one.
Most 914s (the 1.7 and 2.0 ones) came with D-jetronic FI. The 1.8L 914 and the 912E both came with L-jetronic FI. They work on different principles and many parts are different. The ECUs are rather different--so a 1.7 or 2.0 ECU won't work on a 912E. A 1.8 one might, as might a later VW Bus one, but it probably won't run quite right. --DD

Orcas get a way
Hi I can put together rooms and dinner res for anyone if that helps. The fellow I am trying to get a hold of is the "SC world domination conspiracy" group from Van island. My gal and I also have 50 acres south of the park if anyone wants to camp.
