Just a couple of comments.
1. Dont forget to mention the gasket thickness between the transmission case and the Intermediate plate - setting the "R" value. 2. Torque values for the Pinon and Mainshaft nuts. 3. Discribe the shifter-shafts lockout system - maybe a diagram showing how they fit. Ken |

Yep, this is what "editor's" are for.
Definitely need to include the thickness (by color) and the torque values. Although, trying to truly set the torque value for the main shaft nut is almost impossible. I torque it down until it's in the same position. I reuse the locking washer, but I remove the used side and bend a new side. I flatten and file the snapped side. I'm trying not have people remove the shift rods, so I didn't go into lockout system. You can remove the gear shafts without removing the sliders (Except 1st gear). This is one less step. Not a bad idea though. Re-assembling the balls and springs is a PIA. James

I changed a few of the graphics so the page will load a little faster.....Still kinda slow at modem speeds...
Sorry, my bad! I also updated quite a bit of the text. Even ran the speel checker on it. This weekend, I'll be shooting a bunch of pictures: taking the gear stacks apart, some pictures comparing dogteeth, etc. http://home.san.rr.com/pb914/rebuild/ On the top level, you can download a PDF version. It's about 1.9 MB http://home.san.rr.com/pb914/ One note: The pictures are actually larger and better quality. You can save them individually and they are much clearer. In the final version, I'll thumbnail them. Keep the comments/critques/suggestions coming! James ![]()
