Flasher relay, or something else?
Howdy folks,
Noticed an electrical gremlin when I took the car (with new fuel lines) on a test drive today. When I turn on a blinker (left or right), the indicator on the tach may flash left (or right, depending on whether I chose L/R), then both, then one, then both both both both both . . . and kind of dimly when both flash. The actual indicator lights flash as they should regardless of what the green ones on the tach are doing. I'd seen this before and it turned out that cleaning up the contacts on all the driving/running lights and the battery posts resolved the issue. This time, it doesn't look like that's gonna do it. Also, when I turn on the emergency flashers, the lights outside the car blink as they should, but the green indicators on the dash don't illuminate at all. I never noticed this the last time the blinker issue came up. Sound familiar? Any thoughts what might be causing this? Thanks, Mark

Dirty contacts somewhere in the system, or a bad flasher relay.

try cleaning up the fuses and fuse holder, re-tension the fuse holder tabs as needed. loose fuses often can cause this problem old fuses maybe so corroded that it is best to buy new ones. a little fine sandpaper on the fuse holder tabs can help a lot.
