What would U do
Ok so I have had this lil race car one week now and I am torn? It is gonna be my new project car, shes a (real) sixer setup for autoX (now) that I want to trick out.....right now the car is really spartan no nuthin in it....no carpet....funky torn seats....no firewall back padding....bare painted sheet metal (thruout the car)....no heater, no radio, no wipers, no nuthin. This car is brutal to drive...brutal as in quick....and brutal as in noisy. She will be my garage queen for back road blasting. But I am torn as to whether to make her a ricky racer or go somewhere in the middle with some creature comforts. The car is to far from stock now to go completely back to that. What would U do?

I have a similar situation. I bought a real 6 that is heavily modified but just a little less spartan than yours. I have a 2.7l twin plug, electromotive crankfire ignition, 11.5:1 Mahle pistons, full roll cage, stainless steel headers and twin exhaust, weltmeister sway bars front and rear, no radio, no heater and a Chalon body kit. I do have full carpeting including the trunks and backpad is in, doors and dash in good shape. Mine is also too far gone to think about returning to stock, which I don't want to do anyway. But I've decided that when I'm done playing boy racer, I'll want to use it to run around town so I'm not going to make any modifications that will lower the aestetic value of it. I want people to bend down and look in the car and say it's sharp. They don't have to know I freeze my buns off in it. I doubt that I would be any faster on the track if I started pulling the carpet and door panels out. So to answer your question, I would go in the middle with some creature comforts to make it more livable to you. It'll still blow the doors off everything else.

I have a complete matching early interior, Seats, back pad, center cushion and inner doorpanels in excellent condition, and I'm 30 minutes south of you.....
If you bought the dash facing material, or bought the wood dash face from me, and put a dash cover on, and install carpet and you would have a perfect interior. I _LIKE_ the look of the early interior. James
