Transmission mount question

In the process of replacing my old tranny mounts. I seem to have additional parts on my mount that I do not see in the standard diagrams. I also notice that the long bolts on mine were inserted from the top rather than up from the bottom as shown in the diagram.

The town"extra" items are, The small serated washer was at the top of the bolt head when it was inserted opposite from shown in photo. That one is not a big worry. The other mystery washer sitting next to the assembly is rather thick and is cupped as if it might somehow sit over the mount. Should this even be there and, if so, where does it belong.

Any insights appreciated.

Not standard parts. Just be sure that Nylock nut is a good one. Holding up the transmission is a tough job.

I would suggest buying some replacement lock nuts. Generally it is BEST to use them only once and then throw them away. The direction the bolt is inserted does not matter since if the nut comes off it will probably fall out anyways!

On my race car I used double nuts and lock wire just because I have seen a vintage Porsche have it's nuts come loose and drop things.

BMW's used what I can only describe as a "crushed nut" which is a lock nut but reusable, mostly used on the suspention of early cars I've found them good for applications like this engine mount bolt.

Thanks.

Indeed, I am replacing all of the nuts and bolts with grade 8 hardware for both the trans mounts and motor mounts.

I hate putting cruddy parts back on my car. The other items took a quick trip to the blast cabinet. Would have liked to replate them but nobody does gold cadmium any more. Just painted them black using eastwood extreme chassis black gloss and they came out quite nicely.

Have a set of NOS tranny mounts that I bought a while back. The originals (possibly replaced at some time) actually appear to be in good shape.

Should all be back together this evening. I assume the cutout on the lower bracket faces in toward the trans itself?

Thanks again.

Nope. That's the wrong part. The slotted ones go on the early engine mount, and the slot is for the bar. The trans mount washers have no cutout.

They have the cutout on my car (74)... The cutout faced the arm that goes to the tail cover.
