'73 starter system wiring schematic?
The PO added a "hot start" secondary solenoid to the starter system. I have replaced the 10 year old battery and want to revert to the original wiring. (pretty sure that was part of the problem he was trying to fix) I'm sure I have seen an article on how to install that solenoid but I can't seem to be able to locate it now. If i had that article, I'm sure I could reverse engineer" it. any help out there? TIA

Not clear why you'd want to do that, thus reverting all the solenoid amperage through the ignition switch (and replay plate)...but...the yellow wire from the car (relay plate) goes directly to the starter solenoid. Everything else can be removed.

Well, it goes through the relay board to get to the starter. And one or two other circuits get connected to it in the relay board, for the cold start valve for instance.
But at least there's no Dreaded Seatbelt Interlock Relay (TM) like in the later cars!! --DD

The PO had the car out in the Palm Springs area for about 10 years. I believe he was trying to deal with vapor lock and hot start issues in the much hotter environment. I plan on adding a low pressure fuel pump up front to provide a positive head pressure for the HP pump. That should solve the problem. The car will now live out it's years in West LA, a much more moderate climate.
