914/6 oil filter console

Can someone school me up on the filter console for the 914/6 oil tank ,I have a bad 75 model 911 tank which is cr#p but the console is great ....has no part number that I can find on the casting.
Any chance this will fit the 914 tank ? research indicates it should but not 100% sure, help would be great thanks.

If it's a removable console, it fits. 1975 USA version had the filter screwing right into the tank, so it isn't an appropriate donor. BE SURE to use a new o-ring (999 701 100 50). You'll need the later oil filter, too (930 107 764 01).

The '72 and later cars use a filter with a larger inlet, and the threaded stub is larger to match. You can't put the late filter on the early console, and you can't put the early filter on the later console (or tank, if there's no console). It's NOT an "upgrade" per se, it's just different. The part number for the later filter is 930 107 764 01. The Mann number is W940/29 and Mahle is OC 54. Avoid all other brands.
