ggenovez - you are definitely on the right track in your thinking. Before you start your journey down this long, winding, slippery slope, I would recommend you spend some significant time checking the build thread in this forum as well as checking out 914World.com. Between the two you will get a full understanding of the undertaking required to handle one of these projects. Of course, posting up a lot of high-res photos showing the entire car, inside and out, top and bottom, will result in some excellent suggestions and advice from the many very talented people on these sites. Additionally, you may want to post the city/state/country in which you live in your signature to possibly locate some local experts to assist you. Just some thoughts as so many of these projects are started and abandoned when the work exceeds the depth of the owner's abilities. Good luck, these are great cars to save.

Claus, how did that work out for you? Project done? I have two cars that need longitudinal work to make the doors fit right, so something like that could be very useful.

1. The car was not rigid enough to go on a rotisserie. 2. I don't have the space to take it all apart. 3. Once the longs, floor and hell hole are repaired I will build a rotisserie to flip the car on its side finish the bottom work. |
