Looking for 914-6 rear calipers!
Probably not going to find any. But perhaps someone has or makes spacers so I can widen my 914 calipers so I can use 911 vented rotors. I have 914-6 hubs and stubs. I want to keep the parking brake. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I seem to remember reading that a Ferrari 308 rear caliper was the same, more affordable and more plentiful.

I've heard about using the 308 calipers but I've been watching ebay for a while but no luck so far. Is there a better place to look for the 308s ?

The only difference between the 914-4 and 914-6 calipers is that the latter have a larger-diameter piston. They are both made for non-ventilated brake rotors.
I believe that Eric at PMB has the spacers made to put in the middle of the 914 rear calipers for use over ventilated rotors. Contact him about converting yours, or buying a set that have been converted already. Oh--and on the subject of 308 calipers, the Ferrari guys used to hunt down 914-6 rear calipers as inexpensive alternatives to theirs. The F-badge carries a bigger premium than the P-badge ever did... --DD

You can shim the stock rear calipers without splitting to fit non vented rotors. Unless you are racing, I cant think of any reason why you'd need vented ones.

914-6 Brakes
If memory is correct, use of a 911 vented rear rotor will require the rotor diameter to be reduced in addition use of a spacer for the caliper. I have included some photos of 914-6 GT rotors and calipers for reference (coupled with early aluminum S brakes/calipers) that are on my 6. I have the necessary machining dimensions somewhere in my reference material, if you need it. Good luck with your search/project

It's easier to move the caliper outward than to turn down the OD of the rotor. Often, the interference is small enough that just loosening the caliper mounting bolts and pushing the caliper outward while tightening them is enough to get you the space you need! Sometimes more is needed, but it usually isn't very much.

They do look like they could use a rebuild, but that's a pretty safe assumption with any used brake parts.

Not really, they are totally different castings. The 914/6 calipers are much larger, and take larger pads than the 914/4. The 914/6 are more similar to the 911 rear calipers with the exception of the parking brake mechanism. Look at the photos above to compare.

I follow Dave's advice, first a talk with Erik at PMB Performance and them start rebuilding.
Erik is the only one that sells complete sets to rebuild 914-6 rear calipers. PMB's video help me a lot. A must. Take care Francisco |

Anyone know where to buy the spacers for the rear calipers?
Think PMB does not have these anymore.
