Seats reupholster kit/materials?
Gotta re-do mine on my '73. (adjustable pass. seat) Wondering best way to go.
(Yeah, I'd love to throw down and do em in leather, but budget's tight) Found these guys that have seat re do kit for 914 for $350: AAAUPHOLSTER.com If any of you guys have dealt with them. Or any other suggestions. Thanks, p2 |

I've heard good things about these guys: World Upholstery & Trim I think for 914 stuff, and definitely for other cars.

I got my upholstery kit from World Upholstery and Trim (World Upholstery & Trim). My wife took the lead on this project, as she had some upholstery experience. The quality of the material was excellent, but it was a VERY tight fit. I know you don't want wrinkles in the final product, but it was a challenge, particularly with all the old and corroding rivets and clips and things that hold the material to the seat. It turned out very nicely, but plan for a bit of a struggle and an extra pair of hands.
We followed this thread on World that describes one guy's method: Backpad and Seat Reupholstery |

I have seen seats that people used silicone sealer stuff to fill in the holes in the foam on the fiberglass. The world is a better source for 914 info

I guess I don't see it as "either / or." I've founds solutions to my problems and gotten good advice on both sites.

You are on the right track,World Upholstery & Trim have a great rep as supplying covers that fit @ a good price, you can stick glue (silicone?) what ever you like but if the support foam is shot you will be less than happy, trust me on this.

Thanks guys
That's what I was after. Hopefully won't be too bad---back & bottom foam's o.k.
Mostly side bolsters that have some cracks/tares. p2 |
