914 6 conversion and intro

Well I am back 3 year's ago I sold everything including the business. I built a cabin in the north woods and now after thinking about which porsche I enjoyed the most I decided to build another 914 6 .. I am going to correct the wrong metal work and start to prototype some new products as that's in my blood (think m&k exhaust) .. I am excited to be back. I would post pictures but my new phone takes to large of pictures and the server tells me to resize.. So until I figure that out it is a 74 1.8 that engine is out and will be for sale. The car is silver with a luggage rack which looks different and I already have 15x7 and 15x8 Fuchs with new tires for it. Going the route but first fix the rear floor pan and one long.

Welcome back Ben...sounds like you have a good handle on it...I have the same car, 74 1.8, sold the engine 20 years ago and started my 914-6 GT project. Finally got it off to the painter, then this winter start putting parts back on. I bought a 2.2 long block with S pistons and cams (E engine), still need carbs. Front suspension from Rich Johnson with raised spindles and Boxster calipers and his engine mount and oil tank, tin. Also in Wisconsin. Best, Mark

I fear mine might be a couple year project but that is ok.. My biggest challenge will be to find a reasonably priced engine. I will be completing rust repair over the next few months then I am going to start marketing oil tanks and engine mounts to pay for the rest of the project..

I'm in the same boat, buy single parts for an engine really gets expensive. Wish i could find a nice set of 40 PMO's but haven't seen any in years.....thats great you can build tanks and engine mounts. mark

That seems to be a common 914 experience. "Found more rust..."
