914 weight distribution

In Excellence, there was an article about a 911 vs a 924 0r 944. It said that the 911 weight distribution was like 40% front, 60% rear. The 944 was like 49% front, 51% rear. Anyone know the 914 numbers for a stock car?

I have read that a stock 914 is 47f/53r. However, I know nothing about the equipment in place (spare and tools) or gas in tank.

My previous 73 2.0 was 46.2% front/53.8% rear in close-to-stock form.

Also IIRC the early 911's were a little better than 40/60 but still heavily rear-biased of course. The later cars with bigger engines, a/c, and smog equipment got even fatter in the a$$.

When you get the car finished and ready to race, a corner balance will set the weight on each wheel. My race car is 49% front and 51% rear, but it has a 4 cylinder engine and 6's are a little more tail heavy.

The early Short Wheel-Base (SWB) 911s were, I believe, 35% front and 65% rear. When they lengthened the wheelbase by a whole inch and a half (or thereabouts), the weight distribution improved.

I thought I remembered that the later 911s got their weight more evenly distributed. My guess is that was due to all the luxo-junk added to the cockpit (mostly) and front trunk (partly) which was more than the weight of the bigger engines.

I could be wrong, I have been before...
