need pedal cluster
Does anyone have a extra pedal cluster for sale. I finally was able to drill out the roll pin and now I can't remove the clutch pedal.

I see you have an LE...I do too. I am researching the LE cars, what info can you tell me about yours?
VIN, Door jamb date and production plate number (below the paint code) Photos? Jeff Bowlsby |

Ruddyboys, what's making the clutch pedal hang up? I've rebuilt a couple clusters, maybe I can help you get yours apart. I do have a spare cluster, but it needs to be rebuilt.

Jeff on the driver door I have KAROSSERIE - NR. 829521 - KNSTHARZLACK - L041
Manufactored by VW 02/74 - 4742914654 The original 2.0l was replaced by PO. He put in a '70 big bore 1.7l. He also repainted the car white (he only gave it a surface paint, no trtunks ect and the black is bleeding thru). When I asked why he painted it he said the bumble bee looked to loud. I'm hoping to repainted it next fall.

Have you tried spraying it with a good penetrating oil and then letting it soak for a couple days? If it's rust-seized it may take a few days of twice-a-day sprays so it really soaks in to break some of the rust free. It's a pain in the a$$ but that's what it sounds like to me. It went on - it will come off. The rusty little bastards just take time!

Let me know what happens. I really think that's all it is, is rust seized. Real fixable! When you put it back together, use some Permatex Anti seize compound on those two surfaces before you press your new roll pin back in. If you ever have to take it apart again, it'll slide apart like a new Nike on puppy poop! Good luck.

You can also see if you can hold the other end of the shaft from moving, and try twisting the clutch pedal arm on the shaft. You don't want to mangle the other end of the cross-shaft, but you should still be able to apply some force...
I always hear these are a PITA to take apart. Mine came apart with no fuss, though. Must be all that CA weather... ![]() --DD
