914/6 RetroMod
I installed a similar engine lid since the 74 911 2.7 motor install. I cannot use the original bonnet latch because of the CIS boot. Do you guys have any solution for latching the engine lid, I will consider all options. Thanks.

Yup, that's what I did on the race car. Mount a tab into the rear firewall somewhere along the aft edge of the rear lid, and put a vertical pin on it. Clip it and done.

A couple of hood pins works well and is simple. Another option I have heard of is to reposition the latch on the other side of the engine lid, out of the way of the CIS boot, and use a longer cable.
I have also heard of people cutting the CIS boot and gluing it back together to clear the existing latch. Or people flipping the whole intake left-to-right, and bending up new hard fuel lines for the injectors to fit the new fuel distributor location. --DD

Thanks Dave...Thanks for sharing the pics! To be honest, I really do not like the appearance of the pin type locks. I was thinking along the lines of a 12V solenoid operated latches from underneath.

What happens if your battery goes flat? The early Boxster guys have had significant problems with that...
