Angry My coolant, where is it going???

Hi there everyone. I have noticed that the coolant in the reservoir keeps getting low so I have to keep adding. Usually when i drive for a long period of time it smells like a fart and I can assure you that it's not man made The car has never really overheated the temperature needle has only gone as far as to the middle. It's had this problem for quite some time now. There is no noticeable smoke that I have noticed. I'm suspecting a gasket but how can I be sure???? Thanks for looking.

How much are you losing? Some drop over time is normal, adding a few quarts a week is bad.

Clean up the engine, remove the belly pan and run it in the garage for about 20 minutes - shut it down and check for leaks

Fart smell (rotten egg stench) is usually catalyst.

If he's losing a lot it could be the lower radiator hoses. I had a leak there.....then the upper one leaked....

I usually check the reservoir somewhere around every 2 to 3 weeks, by then it's usually empty. I don't really drive the car that much. I just filled it up tonight and I will start checking periodically to be exactly sure how long the coolant lasts. There are no puddles of any kind under the car when it sits for a while but I will do what you suggested AFJuvat as soon as it stops raining.
So I take it that I may have to replace my catalityc converter. I live in California, has anyone installed a less restrictive converter on their car and passed smog? What are other brands that are just as effectve and leave the wallet full that someone would reccommend.

Hrm... I am in the same boat you are.
However...
I have a crack in my radiator.
The sides are plastic and crack easily. Mine has a small crack, so when it heats up, it leaks a little. So, when car is stopped, off, it is cooling down, so no drip.
Check the radiator if you can't find anything else.
