Instrumentation Lighting Circuit

I recently had my 86-944 painted all over by an independant painter. It looks like new (Black). The only problem is that when he was putting the lights back together he shorted on out. When this happened he fixed the problem by replacing the burn't out fuse [at least he thought he fixed it]. Now the entire Instrumentation Lighting circuit is OUT. I have discovered that is a direct short. Everytime I turn the light switch for the exterior lights the fuse blows. Anyone got any ideas on where to start to fix this one?
It's looks great from the outside, but at night I'm driving in the blind from the inside.
