Throttle Response Cam?

I finally bought the Weltmeister throttle cam after reading so much about it here.

Is it really that easy to install..."plug and play" so to speak, or are there any pitfalls to installation I should be aware of?

Thanx

dunno how much they are. installation is REALLY simple and i am by now means a DEFT mechanic
all the cam does is reduce the amount of pedal movement required to input throttle. instead of having to depress your foot 2 inches to get 50% throttle, you depress your foot only 1 inch (arbitrary numbers by the way)

i might get one someday but only if i got some extra cash and feel like spoiling myself. my current upgraded throttle cam is my HEAVY left foot

Save your money

If you are interested in saving money. YOu can take your stock throttle cam, flip it atound and drill a hole in the back, and voila you have a new cam with the same profile as the one thet people sell aftermarket.

You first have to drop the crossmember to install it.

12-13 hours

I drilled my own, and it works great, very easy to install the throttle cam, extremly easy to drill and install, for anyone that wants try fliping and drilling saves me $30 and does the exact same thing, throttle cam is very nice though, i would have to say.

Stupid question. So, the stock cam has the lobe on it, and the response one is round?

I am just wondering, because mine is round, and I thought that was how they all were.

why not see if a "400" horsepower sticker is availalbe for the engine? My point is the effect does not change the performance of the vehicle, just the feel.

I understand your opinion, but lightening a flywheel does nothing to the engine output, does that make it worthless? How many horsepower does it take to change the way a car feels? Do you think you could feel an extra 8 hp? Would you be silling to spend say $80 to get 8 hp that you couldn't feel? If you can notice the change, it doesn't cause damage, and is inexpensive it is in a whole different league from my 375hp stickers. (The 400hp stickers are an upgrade I'm afraid my tranny couldn't take.)

making the flywheel lighter reduces weight, and makes the car "wind up" faster. I understand the logic in that. I don't think it's in the same league as this product.

I know that it doesn't had HP...not what I was looking for. I figured for $25 I'd give it a try. I've read good things about them here. And if I don't like it, it is easily reversible, and no big financial loss.

yeah, it doesn't give power more quickly but i think that it gives people with out a really heavy foot a little bit more shock when driving the porsche, makes it feel faster, its all about the illusion of speed, although real power would be nice

Yeah 007;

But as the board has pointed out to so many newbies, it is a criminal offense, punishable by a severe tongue lashing (not to mention public humiliation) to even ASK about modifying a 944 (unless, of course it is a 951!!!!)
