M44 /08 Engine Code
Does anyone know what a M44/08 engine code stands for?

Welllets see and M44/51 is a 951 and an M44/52 is a 951S. M44/08 is probably an N/A 944. Just guesswork based upon the other two you'd have to look it up in the manual.

The 944 faq lists all the engine codes for the 924/944/968 models, but M44/08 isn't one of them, although there is M44/07 ('85.5-'87) and M44/09 ('88).
