Fuse troubleshooting
Does anybody know where the driver side headlight (DIM) fuse is located. My Dim light doesnt work & I suspected the fuse is the culprit. I have an '85 944. Pls. advise.

Isn't there a fuse/relay box right in front of the driver. There is a paper glued inside that says what each fuse/relay is for. I am assuming 85 is like 86T. This is under the hood....

If your 85 is an early model, the fuse box
is under the left side of your dash. If you have the 85.5 the fuse box is under the hood, as Lawrence states. ------------------ |

Mine is an '85 944. I saw the fuses but there are no indications on whether which one is which. Does anyone know which fuse is for the driver side DIM headlight?
Thanks, Fdb |

Hey, if it's a single side problem, perhaps the bulb is to blame. If I remember, the headlights have a dual element thus, you could have one of the elements out. I have never seen a car that has a separate fuse for each headlight. You could swap bulbs from side to side to test for this. If you do end up needing new bulbs, replace both sides at the same time...

I already did replaced the bulb & still no result. That's my next suspicion is the fuse. Do you know which fuse to replace?

85.5 944..Headlight fuses: 20=L-highbeam
21=R-highbeam 22=L-low & 23= R-low These fuses are down the left side of the fuse box facing forward, parallel with the left fender. |

Cebu, mine is an '85. Is it the same fuse location as your 85.5?

Take the fuse in question out, and clean the contacts on the fuse box with sandpaper. I had a similar problem, and this fixed it. Hope it helps.
