Factory power window switch location?

Hi,

I did some work on my drivers side door electrics.

In the process I lost track of the factory positions of the power window switches. Anyone know the factory positions? Drivers side towards the front and passenger to the back of the car, or vice versa.

I couldn't find this in the manuals. Not a big deal, but, I would like it standard.

Car is an '86 base MT.

Thanks, Peter

driver window switch is towards the rear, passenger window switch is towards the front.

Thanks.

That was my inclination. I put the switches in the opposite way and it felt wrong every time I used the drivers side switch.

I realize this is a bit of an old thread but I do have a question. My switches are held in in place by 2 screws at the bottom and a blind rivet on the side. Is this correct?

For the USA cars, the piece that holds the two window switches and the mirror joystick is secured by two screws at the bottom and a two prong metal clip and a one prong metal clip on the top.
