One diode is good - was bad solder joint. Other diode is bad, but looks like it controls signal to Alarm Relay which would not activate/deactivate the AC compressor.
Ordered new (used) relay today. We'll see what that does. This is proven: Jumping pin 30 to pin 87a on fuse/relay board energizes the AC compressor clutch when the ignition is on and the AC button is on. Those pins on Relay G17 are N.O. and become closed when the relay's coil is energized. GN

Turns out my relay is not what is on its case, a N.C. contact between 30 and 87a. It internally & mechanically is a N.O. relay = someone at factory must have put wrong relay in the case.
Thinking the problem was in my car electrical system, I have spent DAYS chasing non-existent problems. Correct N.C. relay should arrive today. Will keep you posted.... GN

Good catch, that's a strange one.
You might reflow the solder joints and dress the contacts in the new-used one, these relays have not been very reliable for me over the years. Cracked solder joints in the ones with internal PC boards, misaligned and burnt contacts in any given relay. I've had issues with ABS, DME, AC and a 928 fuel pump relays.
