Part Location Problem

My body shop jhas finished all my body work and painting, but during reassyembly they broken a small plastic clip that holds the exterior door handle operating rod to the door latch. They can't find one anyehere. To me it looks like the door handles on my 1985.5 944 are the same as many Volkswagons had. So the question is would this little plastic clip be used on any other Audi, or Volks out there? Again it's the clip that holds the door handle rod to the door latch, outside door handle will not work withought it. Help Please!
