Question 944 turn signal problem

Man this car is killing me.
84 944 NA
Turn signals don't blink.
i have gone through everything, short of changing the wires, and that is tomorrow.
So far...
i have changed the flasher. nope.
changed the bulbs. nope.
checked each side, without bulbs (looking for a short in the wiring). nope
checked that the switch is still good. nope.
checked the hazard switch. nope.

now here is the kidney puncher, the hazards work, the turn signals don't. if anypone can offer any advise, ppplllleeeeaaaaasssseeee.
thanks,
eric

Back to our friends problem.

I am not sure what the answer is to your problem. Check all your fuses for one that is bad. What I am getting at is some things are coupled together on the wiring that you wouldn't think of. If a taillight is burnt out the cruise control won't work. It sounds like some odd deal like that.
Like I said I am not sure but trying to suggust some things that are easy to check. I have an '86 which I think has slightly different wiring and fuse/relays. Does anyone else with an idea about things that could help solve this problem?

Hi Eric you might be in need of a new headlight switch if all of the other things that you looked at were found to be good..... I would also look at the turn signal switch do you get power to it? if so trace it to the flasher if so trace it to the bulb.....electricity is like water it will flow somwhere. now if you dont have any power then try to put a jumper wire with 12 volts to the switch and see if it will run the lights... and as always replace all of your fuses every 5 years or more if they are exposed to hi humidity environments.........good luck...Stan

well i had the same problem with my old 944, once on the freeway i was following my dad in the van while he was driving it... and they started working, and he told me that the car just died then came back to life and everything was working better, power windows were fast again, blinkers blinked, and the 4 ways always worked...... i think it was cuz the battery terminal wasnt contacting right or something, i had a simalar prob on my mustang too today... see at lunch i did some crazy old off roading and much to my surprise while i was on my way to get a movie when i checked the oil and noticed the battery had FALLEN out of the trey and was resting sidewaysish against the engine, and the wire was at a right angle, well HA... when i put it upright and adjusted the dealie my blinkers worked again AND i didnt get that annoying whine from the stereo.... so yeah... check your connections, and i dont think it is the switch if the parking lights come on while the car is of on the side that you switch it to, like say sit in your car at night and flip the switch to the left with no key in the ignition, if the park lights on that side come on then it shouldnt be the switch, or am i wrong guys?, the reason i believe this feature is there is cuz i guess when you parked on a street since it would get foggy in germany you turned them on so people would know what side of the road you were on and where the edge of your car was......

Check your fuses. The hazard lights and turn signals use diffrent ones for some reason.
