924 turbo boost controller

A friend of mine suggested i inquire about a split sedcond boost controller for my 1980 924 turbo....any thoughts from anyone would be great....thanks

As far as I know there are a couple of kinds of boost controllers. There is the relief valve kind, Lindsey, that holds the waste gate signal until you reach a set boost. There is the electric kind that works a solenoid valve to hold the wastegate signal until a set boost.

What you have to be careful with is not getting too much boost. The Factory Workshop manual gives a figure, 1 bar or about 15PSI, the max for checking timing retard because higher could hurt the warm up regulator. Going too high could be big problems to your motor without an intercooler.
