How to "punch" out console switch blanks?
I will soon be installing a complete rear wiper assembly in my 87 944S. Is it fairly easy to knock out the blank switch housing in the plate that holds the sunroof and mirror switches? I haven't had this out yet. Is it better to use a utility knife on the inside first, so to make it easier to knock out the little rectangular piece of plastic?
Thanks, Dean |

It's real easy. Remove the holder thing under the cd player, there will be two screws on either side of the empty space (on the bottom). Unscrew them and the whole area where the shifter is can pop up slightly. The blanks will push right out of the bottom.
