"It is your insurance company's obligation to place you in the EXACT same situation you were in prior to the accident!!"
... unless you're dead, of course.

I think most collectors insurance requires that the car be garaged also.

An umbrella policy is particularly useful if you live in a middle-income or high-income city. For example, my wife and I don't classify ourselves as well-off...but, we used to live in Seattle...home of the rich Microsofties. Imagine hitting a car owned by one of these folks, and they can hit you back for loss of income, the high value of their cars, etc. Same case if you get into an accident...the other driver sees that you drive a Porsche and want to get as much out of you as possible. You can exhaust the coverage on your standard policy in no time at all. The umbrella policy covers you for such events. In the end, it boils down to how comfortable you are with your level of personal risk and coverage. For a $150 a year, it was worth a peace of mind for my wife and me. I hope this info is useful. I have been using my regular insurance co. to insure. The Turbo has been pretty cheap, about $40/ mo. for full coverage. Now I just got the 911 and it'e twice the cost. Seriously considering the collector car insurance for both cars as they don't go over 5k a year. Any specific recommendations as to which company to go with?
