Question Compression test results

Anybody hear ever compression test their cars?

Just curious as to the results for both turbos and NAs. Mileage would also be helpful. I was suprised to learn that my 213k 951 had 145-150 across all four cylinders, even after I have run it at 18-20 psi for 2-3k miles. Are all these motors really this strong?

Thumbs up

That sounds about right. When I put my ape maf and k27 turbo I had about the same readings and that was when the car had about 60K on the motor(currently had 97K). You should do a leak down test. If you run between 4-6% in each of the cylinders, the motor is still in excellent condition. Ken

Yes, they are this strong. My 87 924S (same engine as an 87 944) recently tested at:

1.70/1.75/1.70/1.75

when a Porsche mechanic checked it out.

It has about 100,000 miles on the car (and original engine).
