"Turbo"/pop hose broken, what where the consequences?
So I was about to reassemble my car after waterinjection installation a.s.o. Where I suddenly saw this hose, which was broken. It was broken quite bad
Here is a pic when it was still assembled: ![]() The big hole is from the waterpump! On the left down, you see the pop of valve at the Turbo. The hose goes from the intake manifold down to the pop of valve for the Turbo. What I would like to know is what the consequeces have been for me last year riding my Porsche. To my knowledge it should have been: 1. Less boost pressure. (The pressure has been slipping out here) 2. The pop of valve hasent been working=No quick response from the Turbo while accelerating Is this true you think? Here is a pic of the broken hose and a pic of where the fiting is on the intake manifold: ![]() ![]()

You are correct, a pop off gives "boosted" air a place to go if you let off on the throttle. This prevents cavatation damage to the turbo.
Driving with the hose doscinnected shouldn't hurt anything. However, you will have more turbo lag. AFJuvat
