hit a roadblock changing rotors...help!
me and mikect are attempting to install my cross-drilled rotors on the front of my car. we got the pads out, the calipers off, and undid the 5 bolts holding on the wheel spacer. even after removing the bolts from the rear of the rotor, the wheel spacer still won't budge.
now, i am attempting to do this without having to remove the hub, ie no repacking bearings. so what am i missing? do i need to remove the dustcap and get off that allen bolt as well? i was under the impression that i wouldn't need to do this. any help would be most appreciated.

In a bit of a bind?
What five bolts are you talking about? Not the wheel studs???? They stay in. The aluminum spacer just slides off of the wheel studs. Mine don't have any fasteners holding them to the hub/rotor. Might have to tap them around the edge to get them to slide off. Now the rotors have one or two flat head screws holding them to the hubs. Be sure to put the new rotors on where you can reuse the flat head screw.

Check your PM if you get stuck.
Ok, To get eh grease cap off, take a hammer and chisel to the groove in the cap. - it will work itself off. AFJuvat

Once you get the aluminum spacer off. I use a nail crow bar. About 10 to 12 inches long.

Oh. The speedometer cable comes though the grease cap on your left hub . Has a clip on it. May be covered by a gob of putty. You have to disconnect it and push it back into the hub to get the grease cap off.
