Angry Timing

hey does anyone know how to set the timing on an 86 944? The car idls fine but when I drive it it shakes like crazy and the mech said he thought it was out of time. The haynes manual doesnt mention it that I can find.

check the motor mounts before you go messing with the timing. what you are describing is typical of bad motor mounts.

Your mechanic, does he have prior 944 experience?

How do I tell if the balance shafts are out of sync.? Is that a home fix or mech. fix and if a home fix how do I do it?

Cool

Do a search on "Balance Shaft" and on "vibration". This topic has come up several times.
