more dumb 944 questions
OK, got to spend a little more quality time with the '44 today... trying to get it ready for inspection. Fixed the fog lights, it was two blown bulbs. Blue bulbs, no less. Glad they were blown
![]() Question one: the dome light fuse keeps blowing. I'm guessing this has something to do with an aftermarket stereo install. The stereo works fine, but goes off and on with the key. Is this correct or did he tap switched power from somewhere? cig lighter maybe? (all my similar vintage VWs had the stereo always on, is why I ask.) Question two: I busted off one of the screws that hold the foglights on. This looks like it will involve removing the airdam to fix ![]() I should be getting my shop manual tomorrow so hopefully the barrage of questions will taper off ![]() thanks, nate |

Check to see that the wires have not fallen off of the door switches for the dome light. Also pull the dome light out and check for loose wires or broken mountings there.

Cigarette lighter is unswitched; i.e. energized all the time.

Once the key is in the ignition, the stereo is powered...you don't have to turn the key
