Dead spot at Full Throttle
OK, my 87 944 runs pretty good but during the recent cold weather, it was doing the hunting idle but that went away.
Last week a new problem developed, a dead spot at full throttle (after it warms up). It seems like spark is being cut at full throttle, as soon as I let the throttle off, everything is OK. I cleaned the mass air flow sensor, and have removed the throttle position switch, it seems OK, the idle switch is open on the click and at the other end of the pot the other contacts have 6 - 8 ohms of resistance (this is the full throttle position). I can't get the cover off the switch to clean it - any advice? Where should I look next, assuming the throttle position sensor is OK?

Played with it a bunch, reinstalled it in the car, works fine.
My only concern now is whether or not I'll go blind for playing with it...

Yup, just when I got it running perfect again, some friggin bozo side swiped me - sheeit!
Now I need a drivers mirror and door and whatever else I find tomorrow morning in the daylight... Ah well, I guess this is what insurance is for...

No freakin way, since we're both in cowtown, I'll offer you a hand fixing whatever damage the idiot did. Mine got side-swiped, and rear-ended twice. Nice to see another Calgary member.
