Hi there,
I own a Porsche 951 1986 with a stroker kit (2.8L conversion). The previous owner specified that the car had a boost enhancer and a chip. I know that I'm late (one year later) but I'm really wondering what's under the hood and there's no way to contact the po anymore. The stock boost gauge indicates 2.0 absolute bars at around 2900-3000 RPMs and drops to around 1.7-1.8 at 6000 RPMs. Even if the boost doesn't drop dramatically, the car accelerates alot faster from 3000 to 5000 RPMs than 5000 RPMs and up. The question is: how can I identify the chip and the boost enhancer (banjo bolt or any manual boost controller) without spending 5 hours on the car? ![]() Thanks ALOT Yan |

Why don't you post this on the 944 turbo board?

The Lindsey Boost Enhancer is red and blue and attaches to the little banjo bolt that comes out of the turbo-to-intercooler pipe. You can't really miss it.

Ok, thanks for the info!
My little banjo bolt is bone stock, I don't have any boost enhancer plugged there. Is there any other way to have a boost enhancer? Can the chip alone increase the boost to 2 absolute BARs? How can I identify the other possible boost enhancers and the chip? Thanks ![]() Yan |

Here's how it looks on my car:
On my turbo, it's written "B 5326 101 50 68 1821 @ 226". How can I know if it's the stock unit? Yan ![]() |

you prob have a shimmed waste gate.. hmm wonder if the stroker kit is there too ? I think that sometimes the Factory Gague reads 2 bar due to Vacum leaks

2) Is the infamous modified "banjo bolt" also located where the manual boost controller is supposed to be, like on the posted picture? 3) Can anybody identify the given Turbo serial number? 4) Last question, is there a way to identify the installed chip? Thanks, Yan |

Yan, here is my old turbo(the stock k26/6 unit). The numbers match. You have a stock turbo.
![]() If you want to verify the stroker kit, unplug a sparkplug, stick a wooden dowel into the hole, so that it rests on the top of the piston. The turn the engine by hand(with a wrench on the crank's nut. Mark the bottom and top of the travel to get the stroke distance. Then let us know what it is. Hope this helps, Dave |

Dave: Thanks for the help! I'll try your suggestion and give you some feedback soon. I'm surprised to notice that it's the stock K26/6 Turbo without any visible boost enhancer. According to the speedometer which is a bit off...
·0 to 60 mph in 5-5.5 seconds ·60 to 100 mph in 6.1-6.7 seconds The only remaining things to check are the stroker kit, the installed chip and the other possible installations for boost enhancement. See ya! And sorry for my bad english... Yan |
