Early DME ?

I am looking into getting the FR Wilk chip...what DMEs are compatible with an '83? I want to be able to send one to have the dual chips installed....

You will need one from an 83, an 84, or an early 85. They all have the same part number.

Thanks...that is what I was thinking, I just wanted to be sure.

If you want to get really"trick", replace the DME and AFM with parts from an '85.5 to '87 ('88 and later are WAY different).

You can chip the late model DME and keep the original as a spare.

If you go this route you need to replace BOTH the DME and AFM because the early and late parts are not compatible with each other.

Beyond that this is a "Plug and Play" upgrade.
