After only 5 months of blissful ownership my 944 was brutally rear ended. The Bumper is pushed under, the exhaust is dragging, the rear quarter towards the front of the rear wheel is creased and the hatch wont open.
After searching for more than a year this was the 944 I wanted, sadly it looks like its going to become a parts car destine to keep other 944's healthy and on the road. At least her spirit will live on. Now the good news, I paid $9500 for the car, paid $600 to fix the AC, so my costs are 10,100. The car is covered under a policy where I get the appraised value (Yes really, no insurance tricks). The car was appriased at $12,000. I had the car towed to my porsche mechanic and they will buy the car for a parts car so i might may a few bucks there too. Question is What should I buy next? (keep un mind those are Canadiun Dallars so dont get too excited) |

One tail light is gone, I would consider parting it out, but I am moving in 5 weeks, so there is 0 chance of that happening. I have already found a prospective Turbo, 111,000KM (4000 less than mine) and the guy selling it is the same one I bought my original car from. he describes it as even better than mine was.
Everyone is fine, including the 3 day old baby in the car that hit me. I have a newfound respect for my car, 18 years old and she took the hit like a champ. My wife always told me that the 944 wasnt safe but I think I can confidantly say otherwise. |

Do you have a daily driver? I wouldn't get an old 911 for a daily driver.

Makenzie, I have a 924s parts car. I believe the tail lights are fine, if you are interested, e-mail me: pwagner@usachoice.net.
