How do I get the signature image to go away?
I'll admit that it is a cool picture but I've seen it enough times now that I don't need to see it at the end of my posts and besides, they aren't water pumpers.

go into user cp and edit it away.

My brain is not working well today. I went into user cp but I didn't see where to edit it away or replace it. Can I get another clue?

Go to user cp again then click on edit options, at the very bottom of page there is the change avatar. Click and change.

I did that yesterday. It didn't have the desired effect either then or now.
