Already have response cam?

I was looking into buying the Weltmeister throttle response cam, but looking in my engine bay today, I think I already have one.. It's not red, but it's circular.. I'll have a picture in a couple of minutes.

Hmm.. That's good and bad.. I like saving money, but I was looking forward to the extra response.. I hate to think what the stock one feels like...

if the throttle response feels off, there might be a problem

check throttle cable tension
are all the injectors running well?
is your fuel pump running well?
when was the last time you replaced fuel filter, air filter, plugs, wires, distributor, rotor?

Your engine bay looks pretty immaculate, so I am guessing things are in decent mechanical shape... if all else fails buy a FRWilk chip!

Cable had a bit of slack, I tightened it up a bit..

Not sure about injectors or fuel pump, how can I check?

air filter, plugs, wires, distributor, and rotor were all replaced right before I got the car, which was about 3000 miles ago, I'm planning on changing the fuel filter really soon, along with an oil change and gear oil change, among other things.

I have an autothority chip in there right now, is the FR Wilk chip much different? I was looking at it last night and some of the reviews made me really want to get one..

I have that same throttle cam. I thought it was stock until I saw a stock one. I've never driven a 944 without a throttle cam, but mine feels very normal compared to every other car I've driven.

the difference between autothority and frwilk chips:

a lot of people on this board have FRWilk's chip, and swear by it. You're the first person i've seen with an autothority one on this BBS.

I have the autothority chip according to the PO of my car (I've never looked) I have not driven a stock 944 but the power is not overwhelming.

I've driven a couple of 944's, and although it was a long time ago, I don't remember them being much different than mine.. Maybe I'll look into FR Wilk's chip..

The FRWilk chip really makes a huge differnce in the peformance of the car. Its hard to be more specfic, all i can say though is the car will pull much harder through the entire RPM range.

The throttle response cam isn't going to do anything with the power if thats what you're expecting. It's just going to give the pedal a 1:1 ratio.
