New spark plug boot wont come out, ideas?

I'm trying to get to my number 1 spark plug to change it out and the boot doesn't want to budge. I have the other 3 out not a problem, but number one just wont come out. The plug wires are new and this is the first time they have been pulled so I knew it was going to be a bit tight but this thing wont budge. Any ideas on how I can get it out without tearing anything? A small flat bladed screwdriver possibly? I dont have many tools here in college so I am rather limited. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've used some Craftsment Robogrip pliers with those plastic covers on the jaws with good success. You might try (carefully) vise grips or channel locks with something like rubber in the jaws. And jiggle it a little.

It helps to turn the plug and pull, if you havent already tried that. I used vice grips with good sucess when i had trouble once. I have heard its good to use a dab of dielectric grease to ease removal in the future, though have never done this and never had issues.

Get a small pallet knife from the arts class. Should be one with the rounded end, very thin and about 1/4" to 3/8" wide. Use this with a bit of silicon spray to seperate the rubber from the head by going around the outside of the hole. Could also use a small screw driver. Just don't tear the rubber ribs as this is what keep moisture out of the spark plug hole.

I had the same trouble once. Even using vice grips the bugger wouldn't come off. So I used a sharp knife to slice the boot. I needed a new lead but it saved all the hassle.
