Power steering problem
I notice this more when the car is cold but the power steering makes what kinda sounds like a loud grinding noise and gets really hard, then the fluid spits out through the reservoir. what can cause this? or is it normal for these cars in really cold weather? I started noticing it recently when its cold out and dont know whats going to happen when the weather gets better? Hopefully it goes away. Also the steering gets hard every once in a while when im driving the car. Whats going on here? Any help would be appreciated

Sounds like a leak in your pump is letting it suck air in when it gets cold.

I had the same problem with mine. I changed the fluid but it still screams when cold. The steering does feel better though. Ay thoughts on how to fix this? It does not leak any fluis either.

Exactly what I had last winter. I changed the power steering reservoir and fluid.
The reservoir has some sort of filter permanently attached. My theory was that the filter in the reservoir was clogged and the winter cold PS fluid couldn't flow until it was warmed up. The reservoir is about $25 and very simple to replace, albeit a little messy.
