warbling sound at idle - normal?
My 951 makes this kind of warbling sound
when it's idling - sounds more or less like there's a bunch of doves chattering about somewhere in the engine compartment. It goes away immediately after accelerating from a stop. Is this a normal sound for a turbo? Or is it a hint from something nasty lurking underneath?

Any other details? Can you localize teh sound to any particular part of the motor?

My best guess is that it's emanating from the front portion of the engine,
yet it seems to come from everywhere and nowhere, which I am aware is quite possibly the worst description ever. I'm assuming it must not be a normal sound then, eh? I'll give it a closer look tomorrow, don't want to crawl underneath in the dark . I may be able to record it, perhaps as part of a video. I'll give it a shot.

Juvie, methinks he may be talking about the t-belt whine. how long have you had the car? have you had the belts done recently?
