How much should I ask? '86 944 na

The time has come...(I think),

My buddy has been after me to sell him my 944. Last fall I was offered 6500.00 and I backed out (pissed off the buyer, but it was my baby...). Anyhow, as I now live even closer to my office (8 miles) and with 2 homes, spare time is non-existent, I guess its time to reduce inventory...(also, I have a upcoming marriage...).

My dilemma is how much to ask?

The car is a 15 footer (the paint sucks). The drivers seat is redone, the passenger seat is from a 924s (mismatched).
I originally bought the car from my tuner who did a top end rebuild (valves, Webcam, belts, water pump, radiator, oil pump, bushings, some hoses, I forget what else...)

I did have additional service performed (with receipts):
Trans rebuild
New Bilsteins (front)
New Eibach coils (220lb)
Door Seals
New cat
PP2 FRWilk
16 x 7 951 Fuchs in Front
16 x 9 Fuch (Replicas - Rear)
225 and 245 Bridgestone Potenzas
Turbo Hood
New Diehard

The car sits about 1 1/4" lower than stock, very stiff front end (HD coils).

I've put approx 5k miles since purchased 2 years ago. Less than 300 miles so far this year.

Ignoring the cosmetics (we are in agreement that we both prefer fresh mechanicals over asthetic beauty) I am thinking about telling him $5.5k?

He is flexible (within reason) on the price. He has outgrown (too many lbs) his 914 and is selling that to finance this purchase...so
any thoughts?

I think $5500 would be a good price for you. I bought a mint 88 NA for $7000 a couple of years ago and sold it for the same amount after a year.

Hey Chuck,

Thanks for the feedback. The pics make the paint look better than it actually is.

Great, thanks again

Garage
Since you live in California, where 944's seem to be more plentiful (and thus cheaper) than anywhere else in the world, I would say that if you can get $5500 for it, given your description...............take it.

Best of luck to you.

Bulachip,

Recently, As I was moving to my new home guess what I found in my Garage in a FedEx box?

I must have taken it out of one of the cars thinking that I was gonna mail it the following day.Damn, you are patient...

On BTW, those are Replica 16 x 9...but the front are the real deal 951 16 x 7s...

Trust me, the paint aint all that, pics sometime lie. I keep telling my GF that in my pics, I resemble Antonio Banderas/Jude Law/Brad Pitt...
