Put in a new DME relay, still having problems

Early '85 944, fuel pump is not working, no spark either. Also, the windshield wipers are on and I cannot turn them off. I put a new DME relay in and had the fuel pump tested, and it seemed to work. Yet these problems persist, is there a way to test the computer? Any suggestions?

I know that this may sound silly but have you looked to make sure that the timing belt it not broken or slipping?

Make sure that the rotor is turning.

Check the crankshaft reference sensors, if one of them is bad or out of adjustment the DME Relay will NOT energize the fuel pump.

test your fuel pump and be sure that it actually works:
fuel pump working, but not

You can jump it to test with a jumper between the #2 and #3 fuse on the 8 fuse panel. Count from the drivers door.

try pulling the intermittent relay to get the wipers to shut off, they will still work when selected to the fully on position, just a temp\perm "fix".

Hey qawse, I just purchaised a 951 that wasn't running and had wipers that never stopped. I found that there was a connector near the DME that was not connected which was necessary to turn my wipers off. I have not yet gotten the car running so I am not sure if the wipers and no-start are related, but I did fix my wipers, right mirror and window! It is a two-sided rectangular harness... good luck!
