944S surgeing idle

I just finished doing the following on my car:
clutch
belts rollers W pump
motor mounts
02 sensor (universal)

The car sat for about 10 months

I am still burning old gas but it seems to be running pretty bad.

Car drives great but it dies right away at startup unless a little gas is given. It quickly settles down to a smooth idle at 1200rpm but sometimes (especially after a drive) tends to surge from 1000 - 1500.

I also noticed one of the plug wires was arcing to the metal case behind the dist cap.

If you have an arcing wire, it is time to replace them.

Fill it up with the good stuff and see if the problem clears. It would probably be a good idea to change the fuel filter as well.

Yeah, new wires are on the way.

I just refilled the tank after I drove it down to 1/4 with the old stuff hopefully that will clear it up. I hope that clears it up.

Any other things to look for?

Still up to no good. Any help would be great. I fear that I am going to have to pull off the intake man. to check for vacum leaks.
