Cabrio Top Window Replacement
My top is in really good shape, but the window has torn along the edge of the cloth top, so it needs to be replaced. The local "reputable" shop quoted me...$600 DOLLARS! Can you believe that?
So... I saw one internet top distributor where I could buy the whole rear section of the top in german canvas with the window included for less than half that. Not sure how difficult that job would be for me to perform myself, but I might be willing to take it on rather than having the local shop rape me. Suggestions?

Our local trim shop charges more. Most convertible window replacements for Porsche models are around that price or more nowadays for the parts and labor. The price is not anything more than what it costs to do the job.

also bear in mine, the top looks good, must function smoothly and must be waterproof, there are also specialist tools and materials that need to be used. I also assume that a g'tee is avaialble with the other job

I was taking a good look at the top and it's definitely NOT a DIY job, at least not for me. Looks pretty complicated.
Another shop about 100 miles away in Chattanooga quoted me "around $500, but we'll have to take a look at it." Perhaps the $600 isn't that unreasonable. Now where's that roll of duct tape?
