change in sound... something to worry about?
as most of you know, I've been driving around with a bum clutch master/slave cylinder for about a month now.. I finally have the funds pulled together to afford the parts I need plus a little compensation for my buddy to help me do the transplant...
but I fear that it may be too late.. Driving home from work this morning after along night shift, I noticed the sound of the car was different... after a hell of a time trying to pull it into 1st out of the parking lot because of no clutch pressure, the car had almost a "tinny" sound to it... and was less "throaty" in the mid to high revs (>3.5k approx... stock exhaust...) on top of that, a rather bassey, yet smooth and not rough sounding "wobble" noise at a constant interval that seemed to vary in frequency directly with the speed of the car... and to add to things, I can still shift, but there is definitely less resistance going from gear to gear than there was a month ago... probably because I've beat the hell out of the clutch due to the crapped master/slave... (even though I try to be gentle.. lol I drive around usually with the window down (a/c is gone too.. lol) and the sounds are less noticable over the noise of the air rushing in at 50mph... so I cant guarantee that these sounds started this morning.. but they are new... could these incidences be related? the clutch with the sounds that I'm hearing? I'm sorry I cant really do a better job of describing them...
