Cooling system question (any gurus)

OK On my performance rebuild I plan on switching to a lower temp t-stat approx 71degrees compared to the stock 80 degrees, Also I will be running a cooler fan switch at (77-82) Degrees compared to the stocker at 87-92 degrees. I also want to run the autotechnic performance rad. I dont have a over heating problem and never had qith the setup I have right now Im hitting the 3/4 mark .. I just know That Im gonna be beating the hell out of her and with the other mods Im doing including nitrous I want to be able to keep engine temps down since it already does get crazy hot under the hood. What do you guys think of that cooling system setup? WOuld it run too cool?? DO you think the fans would be on too much?? Any help or ideas would be sweet, thanx guys

When it comes to the 944\924S - there is no such thing as too cool. Optimally, what you want is for the thermostat to stay wide open, regardless of what the fans are doing. If you run a fan switch that is too cold, you can actually get the thermostat to close back up. Ideally, you want the temp just above the first mark.

I would also recommend a very high grade of coolant - like the stuff that they put in the Boxsters\996\955\980. It's optimum mix is 65% coolant, 35% water. Downside: $49.00\gallon

If you are doing nitrous, I highly recommend a wet system - That will help keep the engine cooler.

Also, I would strongly suggest an external oil cooler - same setup as a 951.

Thanx for the info. Im eather going for a direct port wet system but its big money or a single fogger wet. I ran a wet fogger on my Truck before and it was fun. I have already picked out the external cooler says it drops oil temp by 50 degrees if I remeber correctly. link to oil cooler kit
