A Stupid Question (temp)
My water temp gauge is not too accurate, I have to hit the dash and it moved around.
I can't find any loose connections or grounds. So I ordered a temp gauge and sender. Problem is, I ordered the wrong thing I guess. I have recieved an OIL temp gauge and sender. I will go ahead and install it but where does the sender go? Now as for the water temp gauge, I can't find them for sale anywhere, could I use the oil temp gauge for the water temp? |

Well, The oil temp sender is right on the oil cooler wich is where the Oil filter is at.. you can see it from under ther car it has 2 wires and are the only 2 wires that are on that sensor on the oil coller.
As far as the temp gauge.. my gauges used to bounce up and down and show temp was realy high. I would hit it and the temp would go to what it shoudl be. SOLUTION;this is what worked for me The ground strap that is on the bell housing and goes to the firewall to the car on the rear engine was a little loose. It's trickey to see and get to but I lossened the ground strap to the bell housing cleanged off all the little ground wires that were there and bolted it back up. BOOM poblem solved for me or you could just tighten down the bolt if its loose already but i cleaned it just in case. There is also a temp sensor it's realy small that a single wire goes to on the head. It's right under the Intake boot on the left side check to see if that had a good connection too.
