Porsche Crest Backup light problem

When shifting in reverse, my backup lights will "blink" rather softly, and then go out. Fuse is good, as mirrors and turn signal indicators work.

(1) Could this be a bad ground? Ground location?

(2) Is the reverse switch located on the right (passenger) side of the tranny, above the half-shaft?

(3) Is there any adjustment for this switch, or is it a simple replacement?

Thanx, Pelicans!

1. Possible bad ground, but not likely - the ground is in the rear of the car, under the carpet, between the lights. - the other lights would blink too.

2. Yes, that is it, check for damaged wires.

3. No adjustment, just replacement.

You could try electrical contact cleaner but it will probably only buy you a little time unless you want to keep cleaning the switch over and over. The best thing...just replace it.
